Community First Web

Community First Web

Community First Web is a small initiative to help community-focused groups get a simple website in place without a big upfront cost.

It is designed to give groups a clear online home where people can quickly see what you do, who it is for, and how to get involved before applying below.

Why this exists

Many community groups rely mainly on social media, which can make it hard for people to find the right information quickly.

Community First Web helps groups create a simple online home so people can see what the group does and how to get involved.

How the offer works

  • £10 one-off website setup
  • Domain included if your group needs one
  • Hosting and one email account free for 3 months
  • Optional hosting after that for £5 per month
  • No pressure to continue after the free period
  • Around 3 groups supported each month

Who this is for

This is for community-focused groups rather than typical commercial businesses.

  • Community groups, charities, and volunteer projects
  • Youth clubs, sports clubs, and dance groups
  • Arts, music, hobby, parent, and support groups
  • Local initiatives and community programmes

Small membership or activity fees are fine where the group mainly exists to support community participation.

What a typical site includes

  • About the group
  • How people can get involved
  • Session times or activities
  • Location information
  • Contact details

The aim is clarity rather than complexity. Full details are on the Terms and Conditions page.
